Takipsilim: Filipino version of Twilight?!

Ok, so...I know...I know...hold on...I just received this news from an email from my officemate. And...geesh....

I'm also S-H-O-C-K-E-D!!!

Well, I don't wanna put a judgement on this, yet. But a lot of people are already petitioning on stopping the production of this television series. To think that it hasn't even started, yet. They're gonna start the tapings next year, sometime in February.

But, ok, here's my take on this: there's quite a bunch of people who are so against the idea of having a Filipino remake of Twilight. I also quite think that it's not appropriate. ABS-CBN could've just come up with its own version. But, here's the catch...believe it or not...I kinda think that a lot of people will still watch this one. Swear. Curiousity is the name of the game. A lot of people would wanna prove themselves right that this show is actually trashy or something. But the more they would wanna do that, the more they'd just eventually find themselves watching the show. The more you hate the show, or the more that you think you hate the show, the more you would wanna watch it. As in. Let's just see.

And besides, I think Rayver's kinda cute, too. (^_^) I'm just not a Shaina fan, though. I like Maja Salvador more.

Rayver Cruz will star as Edward Cullen and Shaina Magdayao as Isabella Swan in the local television version “Twilight.” The hit vampire novel has been bought by ABS-CBN has bought for more than US$1 million with Ignite Media as co producer. The taping is set to start next year by Feb. in Baguio, Tagaytay, Bukidnon with some parts to be shot abroad. To be directed by Cathy Garcia Molina, the TV adaptation will focus on Edward and Bella’s love story to be treated as drama, romance and fantasy. The unofficial cast includes Valeen Montenegro as Alice Cullen, Gabby Concepcion as Dr. Carlisle Cullen, Luis Manzano as Emmett Cullen, Al Tantay as Charlie Swan, Yayo Aguila as Renee Dwyer, Fred Payawan as Jacob Black, Carlos Agassi as James, Chin Chin Gutierrez as Esme Cullen, Karylle as Rosalie Hale, Joross Gamboa as Jasper Hale, Jessy Mendiola as Jessica Stanley, Empress Schuck as Angela Weber, Brad Murdoch as Laurent, Nikki Bacolod as Victoria and Aaron Villaflor as Mike Newton. Rayver and Shaina were former love team partner but the tandem did not work. It seems their tandem will click in “Twilight.”
