It's better this way....

We always sit in front (or close to the front if the first few seats are reserved) whenever we go to church. Sitting in front has its perks, like being the first in line during communion and not worrying if the people sitting in front of you are being unreasonably disturbing. But one of the perks that I kinda appreciate the most is that I get to see the people who are lining up during communion, like some old friends and faces in our community.

Just like what happened last Easter Sunday morning. I saw an old face, a guy I once dated (or should I say twice) more than 10 years ago. An old schoolmate back when I was in grade school. He was such a cutie during that time. I was in 5th grade when I first met him and he was a graduating 6th grader. We didn't become friends because he moved to a different high school after graduation.

I wouldn't delve much into the details but thanks to Friendster back then, we were able to reconnect and meet up twice at a community mall when I was in college. I was more than surprised that he still remembered me.

He didn't become my boyfriend (I'm NBSB - no boyfriend since birth) even though he asked me if I wanted to. I was 18 and he was 19 turning 20. But, what I did was I told him that when he'd graduate from college, we could meet up again and he could ask me that same question (I was a junior and he was a graduating senior) if he'd still be single. I told him that I wanted him to have a "real" girlfriend because there are things that only a "real" girl could give him that I couldn't. So, yeah, back then I guess I was already a drama queen. 😅😅😅

To cut the long story short, I didn't get to see him again after that. On my senior year, I had a different set of crushes (my Carlo Ayo saga started during that time) and he also didn't become that active on Friendster anymore (I guess FS was also at the brink of death at that time already).

Fast forward to 2017, and there he was, in front of me, at the church, a kid beside him holding his hand. A woman who I deciphered to be his wife was following behind him. She was holding what seemed to me was like a newborn baby. He grew a little older, now strutting a dadbod which became quite obvious because of the shirt that he's wearing.

I'm just not sure if he saw me or, even if he did, if he even recognized me. I decided to check him out if he's on Facebook and, lo and behold, he is. Married with two kids. I thought of adding him up and to tell him that I just saw him, but I hesitated.

It's better this way. I'm more than happy seeing that he's happy and that he now has a family. I was right after all. I could only probably give him so much, but not the one thing that he needs and deserves to have.

God bless him and his family.

The year's most terrifying cinematic event happens in “ALIEN: COVENANT”on May 10

Director Ridley Scott brings another yet unforgettable cinematic event in “Alien: Covenant” starring Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Guy Pearce, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Carmen Ejogo and James Franco.

“Alien: Covenant” takes place ten years after the events of Prometheus and follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant, which has discovered a promising new planet. Also on board the colony ship Covenant is humanoid Walter (Fassbender) who is in charge of managing the ship’s safe journey until it’s time for the mission crew to wake from years of cryo-slumber. Once awake, the team finds a planet just like earth and soon comes in contact with David (Fassbender), the synthetic survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. The uncharted world that looks like paradise at first soon turns dark and dangerous when a hostile alien life-form forces the crew into a deadly fight for survival.

A visual spectacle, “Alien: Covenant” will bring the audience to an immersive world where humans have nowhere to run and hide from the monstrous creatures who wreak of nothing but carnage.

Fassbender plays dual role as humanoids David and Walter, both made to be the ideal hassle-free companion in all of man’s most ambitious expedition in space. Fassbender as Walter is the latest humanoid creation, an extremely efficient modification with unrivalled data processing and is free of emotions. When the ship Covenant Walter mans makes an unscheduled stop at the nearest planet, they didn’t realize that they have descended into hell’s path finding themselves trapped and helpless in a world full of hostile alien life forms.

“I think Walter’s a real different kettle of fish. David was definitely a work-in-progress, somewhat of a prototype I suppose. The elements of him that were the human elements I think people found a little disturbing, so Walter’s more of a straightforward robot. Pretty logical and more of a servant without the ego. So Walter is really just a very straightforward, logical synthetic really. He’s just more like a Dr. Spock type character, whereas David—it’s 10 years since we last saw him without any maintenance. So those human qualities have gathered some momentum I suppose or they’re as much a part of him now as synthetic qualities. Walter’s just really there to serve the ship and its crew,” says Fassbender of his dual role.

“Alien: Covenant” opens May 10 in cinemas nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Why ACE personal trainer Dominic Samoisette is the perfect fitness coach for me (and you)

Uhmmm...yes....that's my personal trainer Dominic Samoisette doing a sit up. Teehee!

I started training with Coach Domi last January and I had been losing a kilo every week since then. Click here for my first post about him highlighting my first month under his fitness program.

Because of the good results that I had been seeing, I thought of creating a follow up post on that one, but highlighting this time why I believe Coach Domi is the perfect fitness trainer for me and, most probably, for you, too.

That's me with Coach Domi at the park where we always do our sessions every week.

At first, I was hesitant to get a personal trainer. I was never the kind of person who enjoyed working out or would commit to a steady routine. But, then, I decided to give Coach Domi a try and I’m more than happy and proud to say that it has been one of the best decisions that I’ve made in my life.

Coach Domi is an excellent motivator and he challenges me to always strive to push my personal boundaries to new heights. He has tailored my workout to my personal needs via understanding my fitness and health goals first. He is also very knowledgeable in his field and he has a holistic approach in incorporating endurance, posture, balance, strength and flexibility in the fitness program that he has designed for me. He ensures that I’m doing correctly the exercises that he teaches me while reinforcing the benefits of each physical activity. At the same time, he has also constantly been providing me advice on how to have a healthy eating regimen and he has been motivating me to always eat healthy.

The results have been significant so far. It has only been almost four months now and I know that I still have a long way to go but I feel that I am in a better shape than I have ever been. I am now quite leaner, more toned and a little fitter than before that even my friends and colleagues have noted the difference! I’m also now able to touch my toes and wear my old clothes again.

November last year I was close to 115 kg.,but now (as in just now) I'm 98.6 kg. so that's like almost 17 kg. lost! I'm also now able to wear my size 36 pants again (I was a size 42 before).

Workwise, Coach Domi is a very qualified trainer. He has always been on time and he has also always been a professional. He truly always keeps me looking forward to our next sessions.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Coach Domi to anyone who is looking to improve their health and achieve their fitness goals.

So...if you also have the same goals as I do, and if you need a qualified trainer to achieve these goals, why not drop Coach Domi an email?

Contact him at samoisette.dominic@gmail.com and follow him on Instagram @dominicsamoisette for his regular fitness tips and videos.

That's all for now. I'll keep you updated on my progress again in the coming weeks. I'll probably post some photos of me exercising, too. I look like a whale shark. LOLZ!

Thanks for everything, Coach Domi.

Advocacy film “ANG ARAW SA LIKOD MO” in Phils. cinemas soon

Philippines’ award-winning advocacy film “Ang Araw sa Likod Mo” written and directed by Dominic P. Nuesa is a gripping story of two brothers reunited despite being separated by conflicting beliefs. The movie also tackles the heroism of Filipino soldiers in the thick of a four-decade old war against terrorism starring a talented cast that includes Ping Medina, Bong Cabrera and Mike Liwag.

“Ang Araw sa Likod Mo” is Nuesa’s full-length film feature debut and has been nominated in the upcoming prestigious Nice International Awards (2017) in the most coveted categories such as Best Director – Dominic Carlo P. Nuesa, Best Lead Actor – Mike Liwag, Best Supporting Actor – Ping Medina, Best Editing – JavierAbola and Best Sound – Greg Rodriguez III.

Produced by Nuesa’s An Earth Below Productions, “Ang Araw sa Likod Mo”has already won five international awards – Best Film in Auckland International Film Festival, Global Award Winner at the Europe-based ARFF (Around Films International Film Festival), and Awards of Recognition for Feature Length, Best Actor (Bong Cabrera) and Best Supporting Actor (Mike Liwag) at the US-based Accolade Global Film Competition.

Inspired by the real stories of Special Operations soldiers in the country known as the Philippine Scout Rangers, “Ang Araw sa Likod Mo” is an intense film filled with raw action that introduces brothers Jamiluddin (Cabrera) and Omar (Liwag) along with Sgt. Benjie Calayan (Medina) within the terrorist infested island in Southern Philippines.

Opening very soon in local theaters nationwide this May 24, majority of the proceeds from the box-office receipts of “Ang Araw sa Likod Mo” will be donated to Help Educate and Rear Orphans (HERO) Foundation, Inc. The foundation aims to uplift the families of soldiers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines who were killed or incapacitated in the line of duty by providing educational assistance to their children to obtain a college degree or vocational course. In return, this will help them to have a wider range of opportunities in their future and our society.

By taking care of their children, HERO Foundation salutes the Filipino soldiers for their sacrifices.

Director Dominic Nuesa is also an avid supporter of HERO Foundation, Inc. His support to HERO Foundation started when he directed a corporate video for the organization. From this project, he met the scholars of HERO Foundation and was inspired to tell their stories into film. He was inspired by their stories and was compelled to help raise awareness. It then became his mission to tell fellow countrymen that the HERO Foundation needs the nation’s help, and that their fathers or mothers, both soldier and civilian, need to be honored.

“Ang Araw sa Likod Mo” is a testament to heroism and sacrifice, and challenges us to be more knowledgeable and understanding when trying to make sense of violence and national security. Fighting for a cause, or making a stand, one eventually must sacrifice something and ultimately asks if it was worth it.

A pioneering fusion of filmmaking and advocacy at its best, “Ang Araw sa Likod Mo” is part of this generation’s must-see in an emerging genre of relevant films that aims to elevate the youth’s awareness about the complexities of the Muslim conflict.

Male Model Spotlight: The charming Brazilian male model Diego Harmuch

I dunno how else to describe him because he's really very charming.

He's so cute. He's very handsome. He's very sexy. He's....

He's a demigod.

I got mesmerized by his good looks when I first saw him in person last month during Bench Fashion Week (not to mention my awkward moment with him which really made me love him even more).

But setting that aside, if I were to give a critical eye on him, I could straightforwardly say that Diego Harmuch is one legit high fashion model.

Allow me to show you what I'm talking about. Here are Diego's photos from his ad campaigns, photo shoots and magazine spreads.

The one above is my personal favorite. Don't ask why. Teehee! But, ok, well, to me, he kinda looks like a Banana Republic or a Dolce and Gabbana model there.

Look at how defined his cheekbones are.
His youthful glow is very refreshing.
When I first saw him in person, I thought he was a Hollywood actor.
Or even a boy band vocalist/member. Teehee!
I'm honestly not digging what he's wearing here but he still looks good in it nonetheless.
K-Pop look?
Now tell me if this doesn't look like high fashion to you.
I'm dying to see him in a No Fear ad campaign.
As well as in GUESS? by Marciano.
I have no more comment. He looks amazing in everything that he wears.

I'm so more than excited to see more of Diego Harmuch in the future. I'm so excited to see how far his modelling career will take him.

I firmly believe that he'll go places.

All the best, Diego!

Who is that "gay" I see staring straight back at me...?

Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

Must I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?

When will my reflection show...who I am inside?
