Beki Rider: Raising awareness about the LGBT Motorcycle Community

As part of campaign to raise awareness of the LGBT Motorcycle Rider Community in the Philippines, FARR CLUB (Friends Along the Road Riders) has made a team of 3 as a representative of FLAG Riders (Federation of Lesbian and Gay Riders) to join the First Kawasaki Riders Club Philippines 1200 Kilometer in 24 hours Road Rally Challenge on September 26, 2015.

The KRCP ROAD RALLY CHALLENGE is a 24HR 1200KM Endurance Challenge and is the first ever feat for hard-core endurance motorcycle riders in attempting to conquer more than 1,000 kilometres of riding distance covering CALABARZON area – Manila to Cavite, Batangas, Quezon, Laguna and Rizal and back to Manila within a continuous 24-hour period.

With the alarming increase in Riding in Tandem crimes across the Philippines and the success of Mandaluyong's City Ordinance, The Anti Riding in Tandem, where they don't allow 2 males on one motorcycle. It is not far that other cities may follow and implement this.

FLAG Riders' goal is to raise awareness that not all male motorcycle drivers are straight male and male back rides are straight male as well. My goal is for them to recognize same sex relationship and add provisions to the existing city ordinance of Mandaluyong City that if there is enough proof to prove that both parties are in a relationship that they may be exempted from the Anti Riding in Tandem ordinance.

They fear that if other cities would follow this ordinance, the LGBT community, specifically the Gay and Transwoman Community, may fall victim to this.

Thank you.

Who is that "gay" I see staring straight back at me...?

Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

Must I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?

When will my reflection show...who I am inside?
