REKINDLING FIRST LOVE IN “1ST KO SI 3RD” - EXCLUSIVE AT AYALA MALLS CINEMAS STARTING NOVEMBER 12

This year’s Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival (year 10) box-office hit “1st Ko Si 3rd” of the new breed category will be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas nationwide starting November 12.

Starring multi-faceted and respected actors Nova Villa, Freddie Webb, Dante Rivero (Cinemalaya’s Best Actor for his role in the movie) along with a up and coming young talents Ken Chan, Coleen Burgonia, Denisce Barbacena and RJ Agustin, “1st Ko Si 3rd” centers on Cory’s (Villa) rekindled first love and her apprehensions in life after retirement.

In this funny drama, Cory, a 65-year old woman gets reunited with her 1st love and finally the supposed 1st date happens five decades after they got separated, when Third (Webb) suddenly comes to the fore after years of absence. Things could have been simple but Cory had been married to Alejandro (Rivero) who quietly takes notes of Cory’s sudden change of heart.

Reviving the 1980s famous television onscreen tandem of Nova Villa and Freddie Webb, “1st Ko Si 3rd’s” debut in the recently concluded Cinemalaya was received with plenty of acclaim and notable reviews:

“1st ko si 3rd is delightfully charming. It is frequently hilarious and genuinely clever…” – Zig Marasigan, Rappler

“1ST KO SI 3RD a poignant story about ageing and living one’s choices. Finally Nova Villa is given a role to show how great an actress she is. Catch it!” – Audie Gemora, Theater Actor & Producer

“It’s unpretentious, Pinoy na Pinoy. I loved it!” – Tony Mabesa, Renowned Theater Artist, Film and TV Actor

"It is unpretentious but it is all heart, something most sophisticated or avant-garde films rarely possess."- Brun Philippines Critic Circle

“She (Nova Villa) and her director give us something else. Not only can we read each emotion as it passes across her face - giddiness, self-reproach, embarrassment, guilt, fear - but she seems to go from teenager to adult to senior in the space of a minute.” – Jessica Zafra, Writer

Villa and Webb reunite decades after and Villa shares in her recent interviews on working with Webb again, “Wala namang nagbago riyan. Ganun pa rin siya. Alam mo ang tao, ang nagbabago lang yung hitsura pero ang puso, ang isip, yun pa rin. Loving pa rin. Kalog. Ganyan siya,” she said as the two smiled at each other.” (“Nothing changed in him. He’s still the same. People’s appearance change, but the heart and mind as you’ve known them, it’s still the same. He’s still loving and funny. He’s like that.”)

Who is that "gay" I see staring straight back at me...?

Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

Must I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?

When will my reflection show...who I am inside?
