What I did at the Hola! Philippines magazine launch (September 5th, Harbour View Tent, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila)

September 14, 2013

First and foremost I would like to thank LA REVISTA PUBLICATIONS, INC. for inviting me to the launch of HOLA! Philippines that was held last September 5th at the Harbour View Tent, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.

That was the first time that I got to attend such an event and I hafta say that it was really "quite" an experience. I won't expound on that any further. CHOZ!

Lemme share with you some moments during the event that I captured using my mobile phone. (I'm so cheap.)

This is the premiere issue of Hola! Philippines with sisters Anne and Jasmine Curtis-Smith on the cover.
The whole venue was filled with almost all of Metro Manila's high society. I didn't know any of them personally and I felt really timid to go mingle and talk to anyone so I just stood here at the Audi Lounge...all by myself....
I felt like I was a wallflower. A beautiful and sophisticated wallflower. CHOZ!!!
And there was also this bar that flashed photos of prominent personalities around the world from time immemorial to present.
And then the cute guys started coming in....
I thought I kinda saw a familiar face in the crowd.
It's model/actor John James Uy!!! Teehee! He looked so strikingly hot in his suit.
And then I was left again with nothing much to do....
Here's the extravagant-looking buffet. I didn't grab any food. I felt really shy. Swear.
Still couldn't get enough of John James Uy.
And this bar.
That night was just really exuding with so much elegance and glamour.
Well, everyone just really, indeed, looked so elegant and glamourous. Aside from me, of course. I went to the event straight from the office. I didn't even get to go to the salon to have my hair fixed.
Do you see that group of young men over there? One of them was Mark McMahon. I thought I also kinda saw Clint Bondad among them. But, of course, Clint doesn't know me personally. *sigh*
Waiting for the program to start.
The guy over there with a long, black hair...I just forgot his name but he's one of the newly launched image models of SM Men's Fashion.
There...the program finally started.
But I still couldn't get enough of those male models over there. Teehee! I was just trying to verify if that guy over there with a "crew cut" was really Clint. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to confirm that anymore.
The Guess? models. The guy over there is Edward Raven. I used to have a crush on him before. But....nevermind.
This was me that night. A haggard-looking me. LOLZ! I only stayed at the event until almost 11PM. I still had work the following day so I decided to just call it a night after the Guess? portion of the program.

Thank you so much again, La Revista Publications, Inc., Hola! Philippines and Ms. Jad!

Who is that "gay" I see staring straight back at me...?

Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

Must I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?

When will my reflection show...who I am inside?
