Goodbye, Kenjie Zabala....

July 26, 2013

I'm just gonna make this quick.

I went to Kenjie's wake this afternoon in Hagonay, Bulacan with Jonas Gruet.

I just wanted to pay my respects to a good friend who's now in our Lord's loving arms.

The last time I saw him was more than a year ago. It's just so unfortunate that the next time we would be seeing each other...he's already gone. Me staring at his face, standing right beside his coffin.

We were able to talk to Kenjie's mom and according to her Kenjie indeed died of severe pneumonia. In addition, he also had an enlarged heart, a weak liver and asthma. I'm not a doctor but, certainly, those conditions I've mentioned are really not good.

It was really one very heavy Friday afternoon for all of us. But, of course, I didn't cry....

Ok. Maybe just a bit....

Hay...Kenjie was just so young. He's still so young....

Prior to his death, Kenjie was working at the Solaire Resort and Casino.

His interment is tomorrow afternoon, around 1PM or 2PM I think. I won't be able to go there anymore because I'm scheduled to have my LASIK surgery tomorrow afternoon as well at the American Eye Center in Greenbelt 5.

I would like to give my sincerest and deepest condolences to Kenjie's family, friends and loved ones.

My prayers also to Kenjie and his family. I hope they'll be able to find strength in God at this very difficult time.

And thank you to the Zabala family for their very warm welcome and hospitality.

Let's all remember Kenjie as a handsome chinito hunk who filled our hearts with so much joy and inspiration. I know that Kenjie is now in heaven embracing God, his creator, our creator.

Farewell, my dear friend.

Farewell, our dear Cosmo and Mossimo hunk Kenjie Zabala....

Who is that "gay" I see staring straight back at me...?

Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

Must I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?

When will my reflection show...who I am inside?
