A short note to UnionBank Philippines

June 22, 2013

Exactly a month ago I received a call from that number above (02-4036751). The woman on the phone told me she's from this company called "Asia Global" and that I was part of their "valued client list" or something like that. I was a bit surprised as to how and from whom she got my office number. She told me that she got my number from UnionBank. I then remembered that I just recently received a UnionBank Visa card (Ateneo Alumni Association credit card) a few weeks back.

The woman explained to me her offering, a some sort of platinum discount card that'll give me discounts to hotels and trips and stuff. The catch was I needed to pay PhP 4.000+++. I said no and that I wasn't interested. She got pissed off and told me she'd just refer me to someone else and then she immediately put down the phone.

How disrespectful, right? I hope her kids will also experience the same disrespectful treatment from someone. Sorry. I know I could be rude sometimes. But, I'm only rude to people who are also rude to me and to my loved ones.

And to UnionBank...why on earth did you give my contact/personal details to another company?

I called up your customer service hotline on that same day and time and the customer service officer told me that they'd investigate on it. But, what disappointed me was when she told me that they couldn't do anything much about it because that number didn't belong to any of their records. Of course, it wouldn't. It's from Asia Global.

It has been a month now and I haven't heard anything from UnionBank, yet. Any updates?

This is just a reminder. If ever you'll receive a call from that number above: DON'T ANSWER IT.

That's all. Thank you.

Who is that "gay" I see staring straight back at me...?

Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

Must I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?

When will my reflection show...who I am inside?
