Why I love "The Bride And The Lover"

photos from Facebook

May 2, 2013

Since I'm not a movie critic, I'm just gonna make this short.

I went to see "The Bride and The Lover" last night at Greenbelt 1 (for the love of Paulo Avelino and Ahron Villena). There was this "lolo" before me who was like, "Miss, 'yung kay Lovi...Lovi...." LOLZ! When it was my turn, I so wanted to say to the ticketing clerk, "Miss, 'yung kay Paulo...Paulo...." CHOZ!

Why do I love "The Bride And The Lover"?

Because it has no unnecessary drama. It's just one feel good movie that you'll really fall in love with! I didn't set my expectations that high but, undoubtedly, "The Bride And The Lover" exceeded my initial impression.

Plus...I love the song "Even If." Ahihihihi!

Even if...
You mean the whole damn world to me
I can forget you, wait and see
I can be strong even without you
I can't waste my life forever
Hoping you'd come back to me
But deep inside I know
I'll be waiting here for you....

CHOZ! I so can relate.

In the movie, the song was both sang by Jennylyn Mercado and Lovi Poe. I think in the 80's this was popularized by Jam Morales and then revived and even more popularized by "the" Ms. Lea Salonga.

I also Love Love Love the "cat fight" scene between Jennylyn Mercado and Lovi Poe. Lovi's one incredible actress. Swear. As in. Super. She delivered her lines with extreme finesse and sophistication. Jennylyn, on the other hand, was also effective in her role. And I thought I also kinda saw a different side of Paulo Avelino in this movie. A much more vulnerable and fragile side of him. Go see the movie so you'll get what I'm trying to say.

Hmmm....I thought I kinda saw some FPJ moves in Lovi's slaps and punches. Teehee! BURIKAK! LOLZ! Oh those slaps....

This was probably the funniest scene in the movie. "May nunal ka sa singit!" LOLZ! Sorry! Spoiler much!

I also love the fact that the movie highlighted the importance of friendship and love for one's family over "guys." Guys come and go...but our family and our real friends will always be there for us. It's not gonna be worth it to fight and destroy your friendship with someone just because of a guy. I should know. CHOZ!

And lastly....

Ahron Villena's brief butt exposure was quite a surprise, but it was definitely more than a delight for me. I love him already. Ahihihihi! I hope I'll get to meet him in person one time.

That's all. Thank you.

"The Bride and The Lover" is now showing in cinemas nationwide.

Starring Lovi Poe, Paulo Avelino and Jennylyn Mercado. Also starring Alex Castro, Hayden Kho, Tim Yap, Joem Bascon, Aaron Villena, Kat Alano, Carla Dunareanu, Cai Cortez, Carlo Gonzales, Carmi Martin, Ariel Ureta, Timmy Cruz, Buboy Garovillo, Tom Rodriguez. Who is that "gay" I see staring straight back at me...?

Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

Must I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?

When will my reflection show...who I am inside?
