Pinoy music icon Bamboo with VinVin ("Basta't May Plano Kaya Mo Yan" with Philam Life)

July 4, 2012

That's me with Pinoy music icon Bamboo a couple of Friday nights ago (click here for more photos).

"Hoy! Pinoy ako!" with "Hoy! Becky ako!" LOLZ!

I admire Bamboo because his music resonates nationalism, pride, real human emotions and a sense of hope. I first saw Bamboo in person when I was still a college freshman. His "then" band performed at our school and my friends and I were just like...so "kilig" when we saw him (with Ira) sitting at the area where we usually hang out. Surreal.

That was back in 2003.

Fast forward to 2012....

It's like he never grew old. Even for just a year. Well...his music doesn't age as well anyway. He and his music are both timeless.
Oh...I had my CD signed. Yey! And, yes...I'm really that poised. CHOZ!

Thanks Bamboo! Thanks Philam! And thanks Tito Azrael! Hehehehe....

Watch the music below.

To celebrate its 65th anniversary, Philam Life launches a brand new campaign that features four stories of actual Philam Life plan holders and beneficiaries. The story of an OFW who makes a living taking care of other people's children while missing her own. The story of a businesswoman who lives out her dream of travelling the world. The story of a newly-widowed mother suddenly faced with taking care of her five children and fighting eviction all on her own. And the story of a young couple struggling to make sure their little daughter gets the education she deserves.

These stories show how real people, people just like you, can overcome obstacles, triumph over tragedy, and accomplish what they've always wanted for themselves and their loved ones with the help of the right plan.

To capture the authenticity of these stories, Philam Life collaborated with an expert in bringing real stories to life -- Paolo Villaluna, the local and international award-winning filmmaker who also directs the acclaimed weekly documentary series STORYLINE.

To capture the raw emotion of these stories in a song while conveying the message of empowerment in a young and dynamic way, Philam Life tapped a true Pinoy rock icon and one of the country's most powerful musical artists -- Bamboo.

Together with these brilliant creative minds and DDB Phils., Philam Life co-created an emotionally compelling multimedia campaign with one simple message:

Anumang pagsubok, malalampasan. Anumang pangarap, makakamtan. Basta't may plano, kaya mo yan. Basta't may plano, kayang-kaya mo yan.

Who is that "gay" I see staring straight back at me...?

Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

Must I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?

When will my reflection show...who I am inside?
