"Ayabyu Yabu!" (YABU The House of Katsu)

January 13, 2012

My catching up chat with my girlfriends in Greenhills last Saturday ended at almost 12 noon. I thought of having my lunch there already, but, I realized that I still haven't tried this one restaurant in SM Megamall, yet.

And, yes, that's YABU. Teehee!

The place was really fine. It felt a little "crowded" inside, but, they still were able to give me a good seat. But, one thing I didn't like about my seat was that...I was sitting in between two "sweet" couples. And I was just alone. Bitterness much? CHOZ!

The staff were extra friendly, too. And they're very attentive.

I should take my friends here one time. Or maybe....

The next time I go on a date, I'd ask "him" to go and have dinner with me here.

Ok. I was just hallucinating when I said that. CHOZ!

You use those condiments to prepare for your Katsudon and the cabbage thingy that they serve.

Sorry, I can't find their menu online, so, I dunno what that cabbage thingy is really called.

And finally...my Katsudon! It's just really that BIG. It's like...the biggest and "most sulit" Katsudon I've ever had. As in. Swear. Super! And I'm telling you...it's really yummy! MUST TRY! Plus...wait....there's more! It's only a little over PhP 300! Teehee! That already includes some charges.

Oh...uhmmmm...."What's 'sulit,' mommy?" CHOZ!

So...will I go back?

"Ayabyu Yabu...." Teehee!

When you are served OUR Yabu Katsu, you can tell the difference right away- the katsu is so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, you can slice it with chopsticks.

The secret lies in our fresh, quality ingredients, and our method of cooking.

Our coating is made from fresh panko (Japanese breadcrumbs), everyday in our restaurant, ensuring that the bread flakes are long, light and crispy.

Our oil is 100% natural canola oil, which contains omega 3, zero trans fat and zero cholesterol. This oil keeps our breading crisp, while allowing flavors to come through.

Our meat- we use local pork that comes from our trusted partners that is delivered fresh to our kitchen, never frozen. We also use Kurobuta, US premium pork, also known as the Berkshire Black Pig. This pork is heavily marbled, pink and known as the “kobe beef” of pork.

Our seafood – for non-meat lovers, we also source fresh seafood both locally and abroad. Our oysters are huge and succulent, sourced directly from Hiroshima Japan; our scallops are sourced from the United States.

The result is authentic Japanese katsu, so delicious and soft, it literally melts in your mouth. Enjoy!

Who is that "gay" I see staring straight back at me...?

Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

Must I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?

When will my reflection show...who I am inside?
