Meet Emmanuel Kelly of The X Factor Australia 2011 ("Life is beautiful....")

October 14, 2011

I'm about to sleep already but I just really hafta share this. As in. I really do.

Meet Emmanuel Kelly of The X Factor Australia 2011.

He somewhat reminded me of how beautiful life really is. He made me realize how pathetic my life's worries are as compared to what he has gone through. Yet, despite all that, here he was...still standing tall and proud, singing in front of thousands of people, showcasing his talent, showing his love, appreciating life.

Watch Emmanuel's touching audition below. He even left the judges in tears with his audition. And, IMO, along with Susan Boyle's, this is probably the most touching audition I've ever seen in any reality singing or talent competition. On TV. Ever.

He managed to get all three "yeses" from the judges and even survived "a portion" of the boot camp.

I said "a portion" because he only made it to the Top 12 Boys. He didn't make the Top 6 cut. The challenge t that stage was to sing a female song and make it the contestant's own. He chose to sing Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" and kinda messed up with the lyrics. SHUX....

Nonetheless, Emmanuel had already made a spot in Australian television. He also even left a spot here in our hearts. (Didn't he?)

Well...you might also argue that I'm just being biased to Emmanuel because he's Persian and that Heydar is Persian. Well...again....yeah. CHOZ! But, c'mon...talent is still talent and Emmanuel has that and a "heart."

I wish he'll go places.

Don't stop dreaming. Keep on believing. You already made the first step. Keep on moving.

Oh...and, yes, Emmanuel, your mum is really an angel. God bless you and your family.

From Facebook:

Emmanuel Kelly is an Iraqi-Born refugee born with everything stacked against him, yet with his amazing voice I'm sure he'll go far in this years x-factor 2011, if you're still confused, this article published on the 30th of August sums it up brilliantly.

A Melbourne teenager who survived chemical warfare in Iraq left X Factor judges in tears during last night's performance.

Emmanuel Kelly, who was adopted by Children First Foundation boss Moira Kelly after she rescued him from an orphanage in Iraq, wowed Ronan Keating, Mel B, Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Guy Sebastian with his rendition of John Lennon's Imagine.

All of the judges voted to send Kelly through to the next round but Keating said he was extremely moved with his performance.

"I don't think I have ever, ever been moved as much as I was by that performance," he said.

Kelly, who auditioned for last year's show but failed to make it through, said he was thrilled with the reaction of the judges.

"When I got up and started singing there was nothing else, adrenalin just took over, it was just a blur," he told News Ltd. "I just want to sing and I want to make people happy."
The return of The X Factor to Seven pulled in 1.319 million viewers, making it the most-watched show on Monday night.

Who is that "gay" I see staring straight back at me...?

Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

Must I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?

When will my reflection show...who I am inside?
