Save the best for last: AVATAR

Oh, Sam, you're so hot! In every angle. I so love you.

This is my favorite scene.

Disclaimer: This is not a movie review. LOLZ!

After 3 days, I was finally able to see Avatar just last Monday afternoon. In 3D. Would you believe that Sta. Lucia Theater Zone now offers that? Haha! It premiered here in the Philippines last December 17.

Ok, like I said before, I'm not really into sci-fi flicks. And Avatar is, obviously, one. But since Sam Worthington's in it, well, end of conversation. I was destined to watch this film. LOLZ! The only reason why I watched Terminator Salvation a few months back was because Sam, not Christian Bale.

I've been reading dozens of good feedback from my Facebook friends' wall posts about Avatar. So I kinda thought that perhaps it would be a mortal sin to miss this film. Well, technically, yeah, if you could consider missing the lessons it had taught me about nature and the human race in general a sin. But this movie made me cry. Huhu! I dunno why. It just did. Seeing Pandora's destruction broke my heart into 4 (since the human heart has 4 chambers. LOLZ!).

The special effects are just phenomenal. I've read from some random news article that this movie took more or less 6 years in the making. At first, I thought it was crazy. But after watching the movie, it finally all made sense to me.

And can we just put this on record? Sam Worthington was so so so hot in the movie! Though there weren't that much topless scenes of him (the only almost-naked ones are with his Avatar counterpart, and also a scene near the end of the movie which is a vital element in the whole film). But I still love him, though. He's so adorable. I so love his haircut, his having a shaved head. And can I just ask, why is that he's always given the "gruff" soldier role in most of his movies? Terminator Salvation, Avatar, and the upcoming Clash of the Titans? I just hope that he won't be typecasted, but, nevertheless, he's one fine actor. To think that he's already 33. Guys in their 30s are really hot (not all).

Sigourney Weaver was also stunning. She's just amazing, swear. She added drama to the movie without even shedding a tear. I think it had something to do with her character as Dr. Grace. It's just a very powerful role to portray and she's so a perfect fit for it.

As for the blue aliens, or the Pandora natives, well, they're pretty cool. LOLZ! They're pretty big, more than 10 ft. tall. And they're blue!

But what struck me most was that they're actually more human than most of us, than most of the "real humans" in the film. They may be indigenous, primitive, yeah, but the movie somehow played with these characteristics and made it appear that, hey, it's the humans who're acting primitively. We were so blinded with our selfish ambitions, money, power, that we thought that we're above everything else in the world (including Mother Nature), or in even in the whole universe, to the extent that the welfare of other living things are being compromised just to reach one meaningless goal. We conquer everything that we see, thinking that we should own it or that we should benefit from it but, in reality, it's our negative aura that's really conquering us and eating us up, wholly.

James Cameron, is, no doubt, a "Titanic" director. This is one great comeback film for him. I kinda remembered this one scene from Titanic when the hull was gonna split from its other end and everyone was panicking and there were pounding sound effects the entire time, it's pretty similar from one scene in Avatar when the "sky people" were bombarding the habitat of the natives of Pandora. The drama, the sound effects, the music, the scene itself. Well, maybe because it's also James Horner from Titanic who did the music for Avatar.

I just kinda found one weird scene in the movie. At the end of the movie, you would see Norm's Avatar holding a gun, kinda leading the humans back to their ship, back to earth. I couldn't be mistaken because that avatar's wearing a red shirt. And none of the other male Pandora natives ever wears a shirt. As in a T-shirt. Plus, Norm himself was standing next to another human (one of the good guys) holding another gun, smiling. And both events happened simultaneously. Guess it had something to do with the editing. Did they miss it? LOLZ! It was funny, though.

I'm pretty sure a lot of you had seen the movie already.

But for those who haven't yet, well, what are you waiting for?

I will definitely wait for the DVD to come out. Perhaps 4-6 months from now. (^_^)
